N/UM
N/UM (pronounced noom) is a New York-based live electronic trio using analogsynthesizers and drum machines, guitar, voice and modular synths in livecomposition. The trio have come to be regarded as modern pioneers of electroniclive music with their fully improvised live sets that create a truly genre-bendingexperience.
Each performance or recording by N/UM is unique and improvised, with no pre-composed songs, no plan or structure agreed upon. The group unites three longtime friends whohave always shared a deep passion for electronic music. They are multi Grammy Award winningaudio engineer and producer Jeremy Loucas, guitarist Elias Meister of world-renowned rap groupResidente (Calle 13) and Danish multi instrumentalist and producer/DJ Emil Bovbjerg (VAVAV). Thethree, having recorded and performed together in different formations over the past decade, haveemerged as a solid musical unit as N/UM, capable of capturing major dance floors around the worldwhile bringing the unique immediacy and spontaneity of improvisation to places where it is rarelyheard: festivals, nightclubs and underground warehouse-parties.
They have recorded live sets forMixmag, Ibiza Global Radio and Deep House London among others. They have performed at RobotHeart, Resolute, Art With Me Miami, Fusion Festival, Cityfox Live, Movement Detroit, and MutekMontréal. Recent live shows include Cityfox Halloween and Cityfox New Year’s Eve, Sisyphos(Berlin), SAT Dome (Montreal) and Antik (Costa Rica). N/um have released seven Albums/EPs, fourof those are available on vinyl (BKS-04 is a vinyl-only release with Ohm Hourani)
